How Research Informs the Platform

Behavior Classification

Each of 80+ behaviors is defined using terminology from published research. Severity ratings reflect clinical consensus.

Scoring Methodology

40% behavior presence + 30% Gottman ratio + 30% safety index. Safety flags override overall scores when critical.

Pattern Detection

Four Horsemen map to Gottman (1994). Abuse cycles map to Walker (1979). Escalation tracks severity trends.

Neurodivergent Design

Informed by Douglas & Sedgewick (2024) and Pearson et al. (2024) โ€” situational vulnerability, not personal deficit.

A note on accuracy: When we cite statistics from individual studies, we attribute them to the specific study rather than stating them as universal truths. If you identify a citation error, contact us at research@healthyboundaries.living.
